Vestry Update: December 2023
Vestry reviewed November financials, Audit, Endowment resolutions, budget proposal, and capital campaign expenses. Resolutions were each moved, seconded, and approved unanimously. Please see financial report for specific language and details.
Vestry check-in covered needing nominations for Vestry (have one applicant, need four - must go through nominating committee, none from floor); signage has been complimented/appreciated (thanks Lauren Bass especially).
Dean reported average attendance trending upwards, including visitors who are following up with requests for more information and time - don't have a matrix yet for tracking online attendance.
Stewardship committee calling some who pledged last year but who haven't yet this year, working with and on Realm to make entire process smoother; special thanks to Lauren Bass, Sarah-Emily Steinhardt, Susan Urbach, Mike Murphy & Dean Churchwell.
Senior Warden - Capital Campaign training on 20 January with Leslie Pendleton (preparing for Cottage Visits), presentation from her on 21 January to outline Discernment Phase (then Feasibility and Ask phases); Jani Hill will be titled Parish Resource Nurse; staff compensation was explained; Vestry members asked to choose focus for 2024.
Junior Warden - Bell tower leak claim has been filed, Undercroft leak will require structural engineer (will be given scope of work), while Bell tower stonework is being investigated cost of scaffolding rental warranted to prevent a life safety issue, working through Educational Building roof quotes, boiler tabled assuming it gets through this winter. Melissa Heuer is the incoming Junior Warden. Much thanks to Sarah Musler for all she is doing. Shoutout to Todd Olberding and Chris Allbright.
Special thanks to Bill Parker and Lauren Bass for putting in the Cold Weather Shelter permit application (and all that entailed). City Planning Commission meeting on 25 January at 1 p.m. to consider it.
