Vestry Update: May 2023
Vestry met 23 May 2023.
Financials are stable (see Finance Committee memo)
Elevator plans are going into the contract finalization process, and funds are available thanks to generous donors who gave specifically to this and to the Cathedral in general. Expecting to have the elevator up and running before the end of the calendar year (really hoping this Autumn). Todd Olberding gets the first ride in gratitude for all his efforts.
Name tag project for the congregation is appreciated. First order is to go in soon.
Choir Loft - structure, size, comfort - was discussed. Will go to Buildings and Grounds for a deeper look.
Vestry communications and visibility have been noted and appreciated.
Dean encouraged Vestry in 'algorithm evangelism' - liking, sharing, and commenting on FB (including Friends of St Paul's) and Instagram.
Will be obtaining a new Deacon soon.
Consecration Sunday will be on 12 November 2023 (the week after the Bishop's visit). Working on Stewardship communications and video testimonials.
Senior Warden spoke about year-round stewardship, how best to leverage the Cathedral's many gifts for the congregation and the greater community. Whiteboarding all the ideas and dreams (at this point not editing or prioritizing).
Junior Warden gave updates on the boiler (to be replaced this year) and the crypt stairwell (thanks Vinay Thottunkal for the plan). Watching water leaks. Handy Saints program growing!
St. Paul's Cathedral is a vibrant Episcopal church in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Deeply rooted in the ministry and teachings of Jesus Christ and the traditions of the Episcopal Church, St. Paul’s is the spiritual center of the Diocese of Oklahoma. We are committed to being a place for all who seek and share God’s unconditional and abundant love, which calls us to comfort and stand with the vulnerable and each other.
St. Paul’s Cathedral…All are invited. All are welcome.
